Beijing

The fascinating capital city of China, Beijing, is a must see for lovers of Chinese culture, art and history.

The Great Wall; the Forbidden City; the Summer Palace; Ming Tombs – and many more sights and museums are just some of the amazing things you can check out on your time off from teaching. The food scene here will blow your mind with international restaurants from all over the world and a seemingly unlimited choice of local foods to taste! As the capital of China, the night life is truly 24/7 so you’ll have no shortage of entertainment every evening of the week. Explore Beijing’s Hutongs for cool hipster cafes, magic opportunities for photography and maybe a craft brewery or two. Beijing is a special city and in addition to its endless array of places to see, just soaking up the atmosphere of a local park in the morning and seeing citizens practicing Tai Chi is quite an experience. This is an ideal location from where to travel on your time off or at the end of your contract, with some of the money you will have saved here as the cost of living is so cheap. Many of our teachers have reported exploring locations from Hong Kong to Tokyo to Seoul; taking advantage of cheap flights and some have even returned home to Europe via the Trans-Mongolian Railway!
