Changzhou

Changzhou, located close to Shanghai and Nanjing, is a real hub of tertiary education and smart manufacturing.

But life is far from overly serious here, one of this city’s main attractions is China Dinosaur Park. This is an enormous theme park with lots of rides of roller coasters, but some of you may be just as interested in the large number of dinosaur fossils that are on display here. The population by Chinese standards is small, at around 5 million people. This actually makes for a pretty relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals. There are plenty of teachers here working in the education sector at the many international schools and language academies which makes for a really lively social network. As it’s a smaller city you can experience a really nice, teacher community vibe here. Some amazing food can be found in Changzhou and with the teacher population on the increase it is growing year on year. Many teachers also love that you can jump on a fast train and get into Shanghai city center in under an hour. This means you can really get the best of both worlds by basing yourself in Changzhou for your teaching job while having access to Shanghai and other major cities on your doorstep.
